Amazon current best price for the Samsung Galaxy is US 629.99$ with a contract from T-Mobile. That tranlates using 44 pesos per dollar to 27,719.56 PHP.
I was canvassing the device in Mega recently and the average price was around 29,000PHP. My students claim that they saw the Galaxy tablet being sold for 25K Pesos in SM at San Fernando.
Compare with the original 34,995 PHP prices last December 2010. Stores will tack on extra interest payments for those wishing to pay monthly installments using credit cards!
Sugggestion: Wait in March-April. Apple will introduce a new model iPad in March. No news about the availability of Motorola's Xoom tablet in the Philippines.
